Edgar Davids Joins The Eagles

The rumour doing the mill two days ago about Edgar Davids joining London-based Championship side Crystal Palace has turned out to be true – and what a signing it is for the Eagles! We covered the story on AFR as soon as it broke.
His capture was confirmed today on the BBC sport website and he is reported to be joining Palace on a ‘pay-as-you-play’ deal.
It reflects a massive turnaround in the club’s recent fortunes as they were in danger of ceasing to exist after going into administration. However, they have recently announced that they are no longer officially in administration, and their transfer ban has been subsequently lifted. The 37-year-old Dutchman has been training with Ajax recently in a bid to get back into shape. He has previously played for Juventus, Barcelona, AC and Inter Milan and also has 74 International caps to his name.
Talking about his transfer, Davids told Crystal Palace’s club website “It is an exciting time for me. I want to enjoy football and show what I can do”.
How do you think he will get on in the Championship? Can he still make the grade?
