Argentina have not disappointed at this World Cup. Many teams have underperformed and scored few goals, but Argentina are a different story. The South American nation finished 1st place in Group B picking up the full 9 points, scoring 7 goals and suffering 1. Not a bad record! Maradona will have many reasons to be smiling, but there is still a long way to go and immense improvement is needed.

Despite playing some of the best and most entertaing football, Argentina are not the strongest team at the moment. Their defence needs strengthetning and more passing channels need to be created. However, they’ve certainly improved from their weak qualification campaign and each match are looking stronger, more collective, and more confident.
