Rabona master Ángel Di Maria is more creative than you
It’s okay, we can’t all be rabona masters. In Benfica’s 5-0 win against Olhanense, Ángel Di Maria decided it was about time to book his ticket to South Africa this summer. Not only did Di Maria slice through three Olhanense defenders to score the second goal of the game for the leaders of Liga Sagres, but he had a true spark of brilliance in setting up the third goal. Collecting the ball with a superb first touch, the Argentine then set up a nearly no-look rabona pass for Óscar Cardozo, who actually had a cool hat-trick in this match himself. Di Maria’s assist was immaculate, so I can’t even begin to describe it. But let’s all behold this aesthetic masterpiece. Pulling off absurd rabonas is nothing new for Di Maria, just look at the goal he scored against AEK Athens in the Europa League earlier in the year.
