Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky has added to Arsene Wenger’s injury setbacks as the Czech international is suffering from a strained hamstring. Rosicky sustained the injury during a pre-season training session, while he attempted to regain fitness after being out of the squad for over 18 months with a recurring injuries. His current injury could see him miss more than six weeks and the start to the Premier League season, which begins away at Everton.

Rosicky’s injury comes just two weeks after French playmaker Samir Nasri broke his leg during training. Despite the recent injuries Arsenal fans can look forward to the return of Croatian striker Eduardo, who has looked brilliant in the club’s pre-season matches.

Wenger responded to Rosicky’s injury by saying, “It’s worrying because he was so sharp. It’s difficult to accept that suddenly he has a muscle injury.”

The Arsenal boss added, "It’s not major problem, but you get these kinds of injuries when you’ve been out for 18 months.”
