With Ibrahimovic looking nonchalant and relaxed in Inter’s preseason friendly against Chelsea in California, it seems that the only thing keeping Zlatan in Italy was Samuel Eto’o ridiculous contract demands.

However, according to Sky Sport, the Cameroonian who scored 36 goals last season for Barcelona agreed to a five-year deal with Inter last night. Inter Milan President met with the three-time African Player of the Year’s agent, Josep Maria Mesalles.

Mr. Mesalles has certainly given himself a reputation this summer as someone that is never happy with what is proposed to him, as he turned down the chance for Eto’o to become the highest paid player in the world at Manchester City, only opting for a contract with a higher salary.

Sky Sport has suggested that Eto’o himself has had enough of his agent’s tough business philosophy and it was actually Eto’o who helped make progress in negotiations. In fact, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Eto’o talked with Inter’s technical director, Marco Branca, saying he was enthusiastic about the prospect of joining the Nerazzurri. Eto’o has also been reported stating that he wants to bring European glory back to the San SIro by winning the Champions League.

Revealing the more humble and genuine Samuel Eto’o that we have seen in the past, the striker has decided that he wants his contract bonuses to be tied with how well the club does, rather than how well he does individually in Serie A.

But the money aspect cannot be overlooked, as Eto’o has apparently demanded bonuses of €2 million for any trophy won by Inter over the next five years, on top of his wages that will be around €10m-per-season.

So both Barcelona and Inter Milan seem on course to get their respective motivated men for next year’s campaign, but Inter might be forced to spend the €40 million that Barcelona will give on Eto’o salary. But at least the Zlatan Ibrahimovic - Samuel Eto’o transfer saga is nearing an end.

Here’s a nice little Ibra vs. Eto’o skills compilation to get your minds of the business aspect of this transfer. Feel free to share your comments on the deal below.
