Manchester City back to favourites for Premier league title in places
The Premier league title race continues to remain
The Premier league title race continues to remain as open as can be remembered, with just a limited number of points separating many of the sides at the top of the table. The uk betting sites have seen odds changing each week, with Manchester City now returning to one of the leading contenders, as they had previously slipped due to some poor form in the early period of the season.
Manchester City were beaten by Tottenham, which led to them slipping down in the betting markets and the table but returned by posting an impressive 5-0 victory over Burnley. That was a performance, similar to what they have become accustomed too in recent seasons and could this now be a turning point for the side. There is no doubt that they are a force when on form and will now be expected to continue this run of form and have a positive 2021 in the Premier league. That is why they are now back to the top of the betting markets, as they look to win the league for the third time in the last four seasons.
The positive moves continue for City, but Liverpool also remain short in the betting to defend their title from last season, as they have also again made a strong start to the campaign. Liverpool are again proving a tough side to beat, despite having many players out due to injuries. They were held to a 1-1 draw at Manchester City earlier this campaign, having done the double over the side last season. There is no doubt that Liverpool are not going to have it as easy as last year but are still set to take all the beating and are going to be battling for the title.
The other sides that are set to contest the title appear to be London duo, Tottenham and Chelsea. Tottenham have been much improved this season under Mourinho and it now appears he is getting the best out of the squad. They have already produced a number of impressive displays, which is why they remain at the top of the betting markets and tables for the title. Could Tottenham finally return to picking up a major title, as the lengthy wait continues for a trophy. There is no doubt that Mourinho would become a legend for the club, if he could lead them to the Premier league title this season.
Chelsea also remain in the hunt and are many people’s ideas of potential winners. They invested heavily in the transfer window before the start of the season and it looks like things are really starting to click for the side. They also remain at the top of the table and continue to shorten in the betting markets, as they look to win their seventh top flight title and first since back in 2017.
It now sets up for a fascinating period ahead in the Premier league, in what is clearly the most competitive title race that we have seen in over a decade.
