Despite maintaining their unbeaten record at Serie A, Juventus failed to impress on their away clash with Chievo, where the final score was 0-0, at a match that was marked by a dubious decision from referee Andrea De Marco that could get the home team to finish victorious.
Juventus started the match dominating with a third minute shot by Claudio Marchisio, as he was trying to find Mirko Vucinic in the net, but Stefano Sorrentino managed to claim the ball for safety.
On the other side, Chievo’s Sergio Pellissier tested Juventus goalkeeper Gianlugi Buffon with great a free kick which the Italy international failed to deal with in the first attempt, even though the goal was avoided.
Then, the key moment of the match came at 20 minutes, where French striker Cyril Thereau scored for the hosts, but his goal was controversially cancelled due to a questionable foul on Andrea Pirlo, before his strike. The end of the first half finished with a goalless score.
The second half opened with Marchisio almost scoring for Juventus, but the ball went across the edge of the box. Then it was substitute Emanuele Giaccherini who came close to getting his first goal for the visitors, but also unsuccessfully.
Juventus did continue to control the possession of the ball for most of the remaining of the second half, but they failed every single attempt to get the ball inside the net, and the final score was a goalless draw.
The bianconeri kept the leading of the Serie A table, as Udinese also failed to achieve a victory against Atalanta as they also drew 0-0 in their away game.
