Ibrahimovic named player of Ligue 1 season
Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was named player of the season in France, after a fantastic first year in Ligue 1.
The Swedish star was recognised at the Union Nationale des Footballeurs Professionnels (UNFP) awards evening, after bagging his 28th and 29th goals of the season in the 3-1 win over Brest.
The 31-year-old was hailed as the jewel in PSG's crown as they claimed their first top-flight league title since 1994.
"I came to a new country. It was not an easy situation, but everything went well. We worked hard. Now is the time to enjoy it," Ibrahimovic told reporters.
Seven of PSG players were named in the team of the year, while wantaway Carlo Ancelotti was named joint coach of the year alongside Saint-Etienne's Christophe Galtier.
