Arsenal x Bolton: desperate for motivation boost (
It’s hard to know what to expect from Arsenal this term and the same goes for Bolton. Both teams have had disappointing starts to the season and are now looking for a motivation boost which can only come with victories.
Arsenal’s manager Arsène Wenger has had another week of scrutiny after a shock defeat at the hands of Blackburn (4-3) when all thought the Gunners were finally getting on their feet. Despite the vote of confidence from chief executive Ivan Gazidis, the Frenchman is forced to win as Arsenal sit one point above relegation zone, ahead of a trip to White Hart Lane next week.
Below them are Bolton, in 19th with only three points picked up in five matches, an outcome of a win and four losses.
Wenger’s headache at the back
Arsène Wenger is still stripped of key players, like Jack Whilshere or Abou Diaby. But the utmost concern for Arsenal’s boss is the absence of Thomas Vermaelen. The full back is still sidelined but the renewed back-four recently used have been far from solid.
Bolton coach Owen Coyle has some problems of his own as Lee-Chong Young and Tyrone Mears are ruled out and Gardner and Stuart Holden are still doubts.
