AC Milan clinch third with Sao Paolo win
AC Milan beat Brazilian side Sao Paolo to clinch third place in the Audi Cup thanks to a Kingsley Boateng second half goal.
Milan were the better side and created the best chances striking the bar in a drab first half before Boateng slotted his side in front early in the second half.
The result ensured a third place finish for the Rossoneri with Manchester City and Bayern Munich playing the final on Thursday night.
With few meaningful chances created it was a disappointing spectacle but one that will have boosted Milan's confidence before the season begins.
Boateng took his chance well coolly slotting beyond Denis after the striker latched onto a long ball from the back.
Sao Paolo finished the stronger of the two sides but failed to break down the resilient Italian defence.
