Sir Alex Ferugson said, “I am delighted to haved a deal to sign such an exciting young striker. He has been in prolific form for both his club and his country. He will be a great addition to our squad and we look forward to welcoming our first Mexican player in the summer.”
Though United are currently facing injury woes, as Wayne Rooney’s ankle seems to have been aggravated against Bayern, Hernandez cannot join Rooney up top until after the World Cup, as he looks set to become a United player on July 1st. But not to worry, England fans & United faithful will probably get to see Hernandez’s Premiership-caliber talent when Mexico travel to Wembley on May 24th.
Hernandez said in an interview with MUTV, “I feel like I am living a dream. All the impressions I have of the club are good and Sir Alex Ferguson is a great person, maybe the best coach in the world.”
Of the World Cup, Hernandez stated, “I hope to be at the World Cup. I have to work hard to win a place in the national team, then I might get a chance to play against England.”
If you cannot tell, Chicharito is going to be one to watch at this summer’s spectacle, especially when Mexico kicks off against South Africa on June 11th to start the tournament. Still not convinced? Check out the lad’s highlight compilation below.
