OFFICIAL: Arsenal sign Sanogo
Arsenal have confirmed the signing of French striker Yaya Sanogo on a long-term deal.
The 20-year-old Frenchman is currently playing in the U20 World Cup in Turkey and has impressed with his displays so far, scoring in two matches out of three to help France qualify to the knock-out stages.
Sanogo joined the Gunners as a free agent, after leaving Auxerre following the expiration of his contract.
He made a total of 24 appearances and scored 11 goals for the French club, who he joined at the age of 14.
"The deal is subject to the completion of formal registration processes, with Sanogo joining up with his new team-mates after his participation in the U20 World Cup," read a statement on Arsenal's official website.
"Everyone at Arsenal looks forward to welcoming Yaya to the club."
Gunners' boss Arsene Wenger added: "Sanogo is a good young signing for us. He has shown that he has potential with his recent performances for Auxerre, and also for the France U20 side."
