Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic has been ruled out of action for up to six weeks after sustaining an ankle injury.

The Serbia international was stretchered off during the 1-0 Asia Trophy final victory over Sunderland at the end of last month, and the club have confirmed he is expected to be out for r four to six weeks.

New boss Manuel Pellegrini is left with just two fit senior centre-backs in Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott.

Meanwhile, Sergio Aguero seems to have recovered from his injury and is expected to be back training with the first team by the end of this week.

The Argentine striker, who scored 17 goals in 40 appearances for City last season, has missed all of City's pre-season matches so far because of a knee injury.
