Dzeko's confidence renewed

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has admitted he feels more confident than ever in his abilities, thanks to the arrival of new manager Manuel Pellegrini.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international played mainly as a substitute under Roberto Mancini, but still managed to score 15 goals last term, and has looked impressive in pre-season.

"I feel different, better. I feel I have more confidence, the manager gives me more confidence. That is an important thing," Dzeko told reporters.

"I feel different, also because you know someone who is important has trusted you. It is good, for now it is looking good."

Pellegrini has recently offered his support to Dzeko, describing him as a "top striker" and insisting he can reproduce the form that made his name at Wolfsburg.
