Bayern Munich have lost to Hannover (2-1) and allowed runners-up Dortmund to get three points closer to the lead.

At Hannover, the German giants had a shock defeat which started with a penalty kick in favour of the home side and converted by Abdellaoue at 10’. At 28’, Bayern were one man short after Jerome Boateng saw a straight red.

The 2-0 came in early in the second half by Pander and Alaba netted an insufficient goal for the visitors at 83’, at a time where there were ten men on each team after Hannover’s Cherundolo saw a double yellow card.

Bayern have 22 points, three more than last season’s champions Dortmund, who thrashed FC Koln (5-0). With the win, Hannover have picked up 18 points and matched Schalke 04, who beat Bayer Leverkusen (0-1) with a late 83’ goal by Farfan.
