Qatar’s 2022 Bid introduced the designs for their first five proposed stadiums that would be built.
While many expect England to snatch the 2018 bid for the World Cup, and others think the United States will follow them up in 2022, it’s nice to see that the small nation of Qatar has come up with a plan to build to stunning stadiums. The stadiums in the video have been named Al-Wakrah, Al-Shamal, Al-Gharafa, Al-Khor and Al-Rayyan, respectively. After South Africa, I’m ready for football to return to a proper footballing nation that has the sport as a past time, so I’m not really a huge proponent of this bid, to say the least. It’s great how they have united some of their culture and history with these stadiums just like Soccer City’s design in South Africa. Is this beautiful? Certainly. But practical? Certainly not. Your thoughts?
