I know the month has just begun, but this is absolutely spectacular. It was America’s day of independence, but a Brazilian absolutely stole the show. Landon Donovan may have been playing in his first game back with the Los Angeles Galaxy since the World Cup run ended for the United States, but an unfamiliar name, Juninho (not the freekick master who used to play for Lyon), set off fireworks with a laser from 35 yards out that stunned former USA international Kasey Keller. So Messi and Ronaldo can’t tame the Jabulani, but a mid-level player in Major League Soccer can? I’m calling shenanigans. But seriously, this goal is a beaut…
