At the final whistle today in Bloemfontein there were no English tears being shed. Replacing tears and dejection were shock and embarrassment. No English player, as they shook hands with their German superiors, seemed overly emotional about their exit. And no English fan in the Free State stadium looked altogether surprised by the fact that their team had been thrashed 4-1 by the old enemy.
