They may not have topped their group, that honour goes to the Netherlands, but after convincing victories against Cameroon and Denmark, Japan are looking stylish, strong, and nothing short of superb.
Keisuke Honda and Yusuhito Endo are both turning out to be quite the freekick masters, and in truth, they’re attacking forces to be reckoned with. Honda and Endo both scored respective freekick goals, and though Honda’s may have been assisted by that mysterious Jabulani, Endo’s was nothing short of Beckham-esque class. But Honda stole the show on the night, setting up Shinji Okazaki with a cool pass that left Okazaki with an open net to stroke the ball in to secure victory.
