The World Cup is finally coming to life! Germany are always a strong team and tonight they demonstrated their class, intelligence and quality as they slaughtered Australia 4-0. They have proved that they’re true candidates to win the World Cup. This Group D match was definitely the best game so far of the competition and hopefully other nations will play at this high level, score goals and play collective football. This is what the World Cup is all about!
Germany started their campaign with a powerful display against a weak Australia who played the majority of the second half with ten men. The German side is going through a huge transition, they have one of the youngest teams in the competition and are changing their style of play. They have become a less mechanical team and adopted a free flowing game who aim to control possession and constantly attack.
