With 8 Days Until The World Cup begins, here are the 8 Must-See Group Stage Matches

With 48 matches about to take place in the group stage of the World Cup, one must focus his viewing on a select few. Well, not “must”, but rather “might have to”. Of the 8 groups in South Africa, here are my top matches to look out for in each group.
Group A
South Africa v Mexico 11/06 16:00 Soccer City
The hosts kick off the tournament on the eleventh of June against Mexico. The Mexicans are the better side on paper, but thousands of vuvuzelas might just do the trick and propel the Bafana Bafana over the North Americans. Rafa Márquez will hold the defencive duties for Aguirre’s side and he’ll have quite the task in subduing the pacy attacking duo of Steven Pienaar and Bernard Parker. I look forward to seeing how South Africa’s defence fairs and of course countless editions of “Boooooooth,” every time Matthew Booth gets a touch. South Africa are my favourite in this one, mainly just for their massive home support which will undoubtedly be echoing ‘round Soccer City alongside the Mexican wave.
