It just hit me. Why are my Cottagers not to be found besides the Thames River? Where is Eboue’s smile? Has Rory Delap’s massive throw-in finally hit the ground? Where’s Big Sam’s arrogance? Where’s Carlo Ancelotti’s beautiful voice? Why is Berbatov not missing sitters? How am I supposed to look stylish wearing a scarf in the summer without Mancini’s help? How am I supposed to practice public speaking without trying to imitate Avram Grant’s Winston Churchill impression? Why is David Bentley not dumping gallons of water on Harry Redknapp anymore?
My friends, another Premier League season is done and dusted, and though I can’t find the words to describe my excitement for the World Cup, I’m always sad to see the best footballers throughout England go.
