If Nike’s latest & greatest World Cup advert isn’t a beautiful work of art, then I don’t know what is.

Now I know, it’s an advertisement. So let’s just put that aside for a moment. Damn.
Where to start? We have Cristiano Ronaldo nutmegging Homer Simpson while Homer says, “Ronal…DOH!” And then we have “Il Canto Per Canavarro”. That’s pretty good as well. We have Landon Donovan & Tim Howard laughing at Rooney’s terrible game, while we have Cesc Fabregas & Andres Iniesta angry with Wayne’s heroics. There’s also someone in the international space station rooting on Drogba, before the Italian captain does a bicycle-kick clearance. Then there’s Gael Garcia Bernal, who starred in films like “The Motorcycle Diaries” (playing Che Guevara) and in “Babel”, which was directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, who directed this advert! Gael is playing Cristiano, by the way.
And to top it off we have Rooney hugging the Queen of England, then dominating Roger Federer in table tennis. Brilliant. There’s also Rooney as a fat bit of trailer trash, looking at a Franck Ribery who is bodypainted with the French flag, mocking this picture of Rooney. By the way, there’s a good amount of Ronaldinho’s “Ginga”, as the Brazilian’s tricks become viral hits that are eventually imitated by everyone on the planet, including Kobe Bryant. So yeah, I’m amazing. So is Oli. How about you?
