Who will win the 09/10 Premier League title?
Chelsea’s away victory against Liverpool has put them one step closer to winning the Premier League. Their performance meant that Manchester United had to beat Sunderland to stay in the race. United, who played after Chelsea today, secured the crucial 3 points in narrow 0-1 triumph. Nani’s winner keeps the dream alive for the trailing Red Devils
The winner of the Premier League will be decided on the final round of the season, next Sunday.
Chelsea are favourites to lift the trophy, but if they fail to win, United can steal it. 90 minutes of football remain, anything can happen!
Down To The Wire
This is not the first year that the title is decided on the final match day. Alex Ferguson is an expert in winning or losing on the final day.
In the 1994/95 season, Manchester United let the trophy slip away as they tied 1-1 against West Ham, this result allowed Blackburn to be crowned champions despite losing to Liverpool.
In the famous 1998/1999 famous treble winning season, United won the league on the final day by beating Tottenahm 2-1. The Red Devils were losing 0-1 which would have handed the trophy to Arsenal, but they managed to turn things round.
The only time which Manchester United and Chelsea battled out the title on the final day was in the 2007/08 campaign. Both teams had 84 points before the matches, but Chelsea tied 1-1 with Bolton and Manchester United beat Wigan 2-0 which crowned them champions.
This year, Carlo Ancelotti’s Chelsea sit on the top of the table with 83 points and United are behind by one. Chelsea are in pole position but if United score an early goal against Stoke can they handle the pressure?

Red or Blue
Chelsea is the clear favourites to win the league. They are in diabolic form, extremely confident and playing at home. They should have no problems thumping a weak Wigan.
The title race is out of Manchester United’s hands, in order for them to be champions they have to beat Stoke and hope that that Wigan does them a huge favour. Anything can happen next Sunday!
