Where Is Football this summer?

It’s been 8 months since we started searching for the game from all corners of the earth. The #whereisfootball project has grown, and we’ve seen thousands of photos sent our way from fans of football based in over 100 countries. This summer has seen the spotlight shine, for better or for worse, on Brazil. We’ve seen Portland (Soccer City USA) at its finest. We’ve seen a 60 foot tall inflatable Barça fan welcome Neymar. We’ve seen hundreds of cameras come so close a Copa Libertadores title for Olimpia.

The summer has been slow since Neymar stole the show against Spain, which prompted us to compile a survival guide for the next few weeks. But what’s helped with the survival has been this steady flow of photos. Every weekend it’s something new, whether it’s a behind the scenes shoot of a 3v3 tournament in Naples or a youth team getting the chance to play at Goodison Park.
