USSoccer’s Silent Assassin: Landon Donovan makes Ashley Cole questionable for the World Cup

So I know some of you saw Landon Donovan at the top of his game last night by notching an assist and winning a penalty for the Toffees, but USA fans have another thing to cheer about. In exactly four months the England - United States matchup will be kicking off in Rustenburg.
Landon, who has been playing as a winger for Everton and the US, (accidentally) took out the man who he would be attacking down the flank this summer in South Africa: Ashley Cole.
The Guardian has reported that Ashley Cole, who was in the form of his life, will be out for “approximately three months” after suffering a fractured left ankle in Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat at Goodison Park.
The injury will jeopardise Cole’s chances of going to the World Cup in South Africa with England. A lay-off of three months would see him return to actions in mid-May.
The Guardian also pointed out:
Wayne Bridge of Manchester City and Stephen Warnock of Aston Villa are next in line for England at left-back.
Uh oh. Wayne Bridge starting next to John Terry? That will surely bring nothing but chaos. Landy, it looks like the score so far is United States 1 - 0 England.
Your thoughts on this recent development?
