The Howling Football - Raising Awareness for Animal Protection ahead of EURO 2012
With the European Championship right around the corner, Ukraine is a nation that will be hoisted into the spotlight because of its role as tournament co-host with Poland. The Ukrainian government has reportedly been killing thousands of stray dogs and cats to prepare for the immense month-long event, expecting to welcome hundreds of thousands of tourists into its borders. Alongside petitions that have already acquired 67,000 signatures, the German NGO “ETN” came up with the subtle, yet very creative “Howling Football” concept to get this problem on the radar throughout Europe. What has been going on to prepare for this tournament is unacceptable, so spread the word and use your voice to force this issue to be addressed.
