Tonight at the De Grolsch Veste Stadium in Enschede, the current Champions League holders; Inter Milan, were held to a 2x2 draw by FC Twente. The current Dutch champions gave as good as they got in the pouring, buoyed by the incredible atmosphere provided by their fans. Twente could have easily have escaped with all three points, but a draw was probable a fair result in the end.

The game started off with early pressure from Twente, who looked to play a high tempo game complete with some exquisite passing. Despite all the references to the differences between Benitez’s and Mourinho’s Inter, one couldn’t have told the difference in the early stages. Inter looked to sit back and absorb the pressure as the home team swarmed angrily around their goal. Then in typical Mourinho fashion, Inter found the breakthrough against the run of play. A rare foray near Twente’s penalty box saw Milito bamboozle Rosales before unleashing a powerful shot. Mihaylov managed to block the ball, but he directed it right into the path of the onrushing Wesley Sneijder who made no mistake.
