Linking Up: Jose gets chained up by Lega Calcio, Robbie Savage’s career could have ended yesterday, and more…

Inter Milan vs Sampdoria Genoa

While Inter may have done well to grab a point with nine men against Sampdoria, the club hasn’t exactly been the most respectful. Jose Mourinho has received a three-match ban and a 40,000 euro fine for “repeatedly challenging the officials through blatant actions”, such as making a gesture like he was in handcuffs after Walter Samuel and Ivan Cordoba were sent off, as well as going mental when Samuel Eto’o was booked for a dive in Sampdoria’s penalty area. While Samuel and Cordoba will obviously get a one match ban, Esteban Cambiasso will get a two-match ban for trying to punch a Sampdoria on the way to the Inter dressing room at half-time. Sulley Muntari also received a two-match ban for insulting match officials before being subbed off. [Goal.com]

Should Bobby Zamora finally get a call up to Fabio Capello’s squad? [Never Captain Nicky Butt]

Despite being a footy site, we do have some sympathy for the American supporters of the beautiful game stuck in the States. Check out The Yanks Are Coming, where all lovers of Clint Dempsey, Landon Donovan, and Jozy Altidore reside.

England’s World Cup base is not exactly fit for one of the best teams in the world. I’d say it’s more fit for a club like, say, Ebbsfleet United. [Caught Offside]
