A truly lush goal by Banfield’s James Rodriguez. I could watch that little chip 100x in a row, and maybe I already have. Also a bit of teamwork involved in this one, which makes it even more of a top class strike. Rodriguez is an 18-year-old Colombian playing for the Argentinean champions, and he’s certainly one to watch in the future. And how about that goal?
Speaking of Argentineans, Benfica’s wonder-winger Ángel Di María has been Chelsea’s top target for this summer’s transfer window. Chelsea’s chief executive, Peter Kenyon, has just left Lisbon with the answers he didn’t want to hear. Benfica informed Kenyon that Di María would not be sold for less than his minimum release fee clause, which is £36 million. Benfica also stated that their prized Argentinean, who has already been touted by Maradona as one of the next greats for Argentina, would only be sold after the World Cup because interest and price in the player will only continue to increase. Di María is considered a shoo-in to be included in Maradona’s World Cup squad this summer. Do you think that Chelsea should blow the bank to attain Ángel Di María’s services?
