Fulham reach £2.5m agreement with Almeria for Kalu Uche

Almeria’s Nigerian forward Kalu Uche is set to sign for Fulham for a fee of £2.5 million.
The pacy striker will add to this summers signings at Craven Cottage. Fulham has already signed Stephen Kelly (Birmingham City) and Bjørn Helge Riise (Lillestrøm). After losing out on signing Peter Crouch, who instead joined Harry Redknapp at Tottenham from Portsmouth, Roy Hodgson submitted a £2 million bid for Uche. The Cottagers’ first bid was rejected but an additional half-million pounds was all that was needed to secure the 26-year-old’s services. Uche will likely partner alongside Andy Johnson in the Fulham attack.
Uche scored eight goals in twenty-seven league appearances last season. He has also featured for Nigeria fifteen times, netting two goals. Before joining Almeria in 2005 Uche played for Espanyol, Wisła Kraków and Bordeaux.
