Tottenham sign Peter Crouch

Tottenham have agreed on a deal with Portsmouth to sign England international Peter Crouch for an undisclosed fee.
The lanky striker has agreed personal terms and passed a medical at White Hart Lane yesterday. Portsmouthfc.co.uk indicated that Crouch’s sale was a direct result of the financial issues that is pressing at Fratton Park.
Crouch began his career at Tottenham as a youth, and after rejecting Sunderland, he will return to his child-hood club.
While the transfer fee for Crouch is undisclosed, it is believed to be around £10m. Peter has also reportedly signed a five-year contract worth £70,000 a week.
This will surely be a blow for the Pompey faithful, as Peter Crouch was Portsmouth’s top scorer last season with 16 goals.
The 6ft 7in novelty has scored 16 times in 34 games for England, but Pompey acknowledged that they needed to cash in on their 28-year-old star striker.
