Though Battered and Bruised, Brazil Emerge Victorious
South American U20 Championship: Day 4
In what definitely the best game of the tournament so far, Brazil edged past Colombia to retain their perfect record. The young Colombians have nothing to be ashamed of. They fought valiantly until the end. The match was fairly even, but it was a blitz in early in the second half that made the difference for Brazil.
Prodding was the name of the game early on, as both sides tried to get the measure of each other. Brazil dominated possession but more often than not, were thwarted by Colombia’s defensive solidly, and their own hesitancy on the ball. The rampaging Neymar from the Paraguay game was kept quiet by his second shadow. Colombia’s rightback, Santiago Arias, never gave Neymar room to breathe.
