Day 16 in Ligue 1: Moussa Sow brilliance

While we wait for the rest of the midweek matches in Europe and notably the return of Didier Drogba to Marseille, let us take a break from Champions League football and review this weekend’s action in Ligue 1. Day 16 in France illustrated just how open the title race was with now only 4 points separating 1st place Lille from 10th place Montpellier. Marseille could have increased their lead at the top of the table but rather unexpectedly dropped some important points at Nice. This allowed Lille to take command of the league thanks to an impressive performance from Moussa Sow against Lorient. OM are now in 4th place just in front Lyon as Claude Puel’s team is slowly recovering from their disastrous start of the season.
