Activists took over the UEFA EURO 2012 page on Wikipedia.

Remember the Howling Football that was meant to raise awareness for animal protection ahead of this summer’s EURO 2012 in Ukraine and Poland? Well activists/hackers (do people that change Wikipedia pages qualify as hackers?) have made their intent clear this morning on Wikipedia. And this time around, the animal rights activists are in good company. The activists say that there is nothing “European” about the Ukraine at the moment, as their government hardly resembles a democracy. There are accusations of political repression and a lack of a free press. Admittedly, I need to do some more research on the issue before I can take a strong stance, but this certainly will not be the last you hear of protests in Ukraine. [Source, posted by EB]
