He speaks English, French, Italian and Spanish, carries an army of mobile phones, sleeps few hours, possesses over 100 players worth over €500m, earns millions each year and is Portuguese. Jorge Mendes is one of the world’s ‘super agents’ who accomplished this recognition before reaching his 40th birthday.
Jorge Mendes is a reoccurring name in modern football and one which has been the pioneer behind the success of stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Ricardo Carvalho and Nani off the field. In the space of 14 years he transformed from a night club owner into one of football’s most powerful and respected agents. However, even before Jorge Mendes worked his way to the top he tried to make it as footballer, but that ambition never reached the greatness later achieved.
