With Rafael Van der Vaart, Tottenham are ready for the Champions League
In the dying minutes of the transfer window, Harry Redknapp found out that Real Madrid were trying to offload attacking midfielder Rafael Van Der Vaart. Seeing the opportunity at hand, Spurs made a £8m bid for the Dutch Galactico. The bid was initially deemed to had been submitted after the Premier League’s transfer deadline had passed, but those reports were not accurate and in fact the bid was accepted by Madrid. Though Tottenham have a quality attacking midfielder in Luka Modric, Van Der Vaart’s experience and leadership on Spurs’ european journey could prove invaluable.
